Move

Movement and groups

The body knows things before we have words for them. Moving together is one of the ways we find out.

Contact Improvisation

A partnered, playful movement practice built on touch, weight, momentum and listening. I keep researching it because it teaches what I care about most: how to stay present with yourself while staying in contact with someone else.

The “Being With...” gatherings

A small monthly circle for being with our emotions, and being with others. Each gathering takes one feeling as its theme, such as grief or fear, and offers gentle practices for meeting it. Your experience is witnessed, your pace is respected, and you never have to share more than you want to.

Somatic practice

Breath, gentle movement and attention to sensation: simple ways to listen to the messages your body offers about what matters to you.

This submission to the Contact Dance International Film Festival features artistic direction and performance by Emily. Can you tell which one is her?
